The Cleaver Sleeve

It only follows that when former Black Panther Eldridge Cleaver chose to take a creative left turn and enter the fashion industry, that he would design trousers with an upfront-and-center cock-pocket. Right? This October 9, 1975 Rolling Stone parody (not an actual ad, as some seem to think) shows Mr. Cleaver modeling his own creation, its most salient feature displayed (appropriately) on a wooden plank.
The inspiration for his design is unclear--maybe it was a male response to “burn the bra”. Ah, the 70s.

And for those of you not familiar with the history of fashion, I will mention that his idea never really caught on.
